WD50 | MOLECULAR GASTRONOMY
Wylie Dufresne recently overhauled the WD50 tasting menus.  Now in the dining room,  you have the choice between a 12 course $155 tasting with newer dishes, or a 5 course $75 tasting, comprised from WD50’s favorite dishes over the past years.  Also, if you decide to sit in the bar, you can get a 2 course tasting for $25 with any dishes from either menu!
I was ecstatic to hear about the new menu changes, as this has been a restaurant on the top of my list for a while.  My sister, cousin and I decided to order “the vault” tasting, as this was our first time dining at the world-renowned restaurant, and was not disappointed! I was very excited to try some of the iconic recipes I have heard about over the years, i.e. fried mayo, which was delicious! Can you go wrong with fried mayo?! I think not! 
Really good, and definitely different. Each dish was a new adventure…
The Scrambled Egg Ravioli, Avocado and kindai kanpachi just so interesting, it was an egg but looked more like a marshmallow with a gooey inside, and tasted more and more amazing with every bite!
Pickled beef tongue was fantastic! It is an homage to Katz’s deli and there are little cubes of fried mayo.
The portions were pretty large for a tasting and we were all stuffed by the end of our meal!  I am looking forward to dining at WD50 very soon!  You really can’t beat a $25 bar tasting! I would recommend this restaurant to any adventurous eater like myself!
